Never Expect a Good Thing...

Roosevelt High

I have found in life, when you really want something to happen. It usually doesn't. I don't say that in a negative way. A lot of great things happen as planned, but in my life the best things have always been unexpected. Whether it is getting a job on the radio at 17 years old or meeting my future wife at a random football game. The best things always come to you when your not even even thinking about it. I try and use that mindset when I go to an audition. Most of the REALLY big parts you want to get you never do. And the one that you thought might be the longest shot you actually book! When I got the part on Prison Break, I was out of work, waiting on another job and definitely not thinking I was going to get such a cool part. But, out of the blue, I got a call from my agent saying I booked it. Time and time again the best things in life happen when it might be the last thought in your mind. I currently have 2 projects in mind that fall into this category. If I book either one it will be cool. If I book one of them it will change my life forever. But, I really don't know anything yet. Maybe one day soon I will write a blog saying "I booked it!" and I will if I do. But if I don't..well..you will see no mention. Either way I look forward to the next time I can be pleasantly surprised!

I stay up almost every night until 4AM working on all of my random passions in life. Luckily I only need about 3 or 4 hours to be good in the morning. I have a vision for me and my wife and future family. That vision involves late nights and lots of hard work. I feel like I have been preparing for this for a long time. As a child I would stay up all hours of the night. My Dad was cool and as long as I didn't wake him up all was good. If I did happen to wake him up I would need to lookout for a Peruvian headbutt because he would be pissed. I would watch TV, draw, play with my toys, and yes even sneak out a time here or there. I have really had a lot of fun at these hours of the night my entire life. I don't really understand people that go to bed so early. You are really missing out on the best hours of the day...to me at least.

I still have not promoted this Blog to anyone. I feel like I am getting into the habit of doing this so the time will come soon. Until then I will continue to Blog to myself. :)

The BP oil situation is passed 90 days and counting. No way of measuring how much or how fast the oil is pouring out of the line. I truly hope this disaster ends soon. Jeez...

Cheers

Wedding, weekend and work week.

White Wedding
Portifino Bay Hotel

I still have not told anyone about this blog, except for Megan. maybe in a week or so I will. Then I will blab it to Facebook and anyone else that will listen. I am very excited about finally having my website up and this blog will be a great addition with it. Good things are happening.

I had a somewhat relaxed weekend. 2 shoots and lots of house cleaning. Steam cleaned the carpet, bleached the tile and even did laundry. The House was super clean as I sat and edited a ton of pictures!

These are some of my favorite shots from the White wedding this weekend. What nice people, they really seemed in love. I enjoy shooting weddings, people are always nice, everyone tends to be in a good mood. I love being able to experience that so often while performing my art and working with my wife at the same time. It is a blessing.

A new, work, week tomorrow and as usual you never know what the week will bring. This could be one of the best weeks of my life and I don't even know it. That's the way I see it, something I didn't even expect to pay off will in a fantastic way! I always say you have to put it out in the universe for it to happen. Well, I just put it out in the digital universe which is basically the same thing.

For anyone reading this..goodnight and I hope you have a great day tomorrow.

Working with Tim Tebow

The new EA SPORTS NCAA Football 11 game goes on store shelves next week. I know a lot of people that produce the game... personally. All of them are great guys that work their asses off to make a fantastic game. I really hope their game fly's off the shelf because it is probably the best NCAA Football game...ever.

Another thing that will help sales this year is the new cover athlete for the game. This year the man on the cover of the game is Tim Tebow. Arguably one of the greatest and most acclaimed college football players ever. I am no college football fan. I cheer for the underdog in most games but I pay attention enough to it to be able to get about 4 questions deep when in a conversation. Then my eyes glaze over. So, I have no football fan bias against Tim Tebow nor do I know too much about him other then the typical things you my have heard and seen on the Internet. So when I was assigned to produce a "Day and The Life" Video with him during his game cover shoot and studio tour. I was intrigued. I always like to meet people that have one stigma in the media. I have met many "known" people who have been marked as mean or a jerk that have been extremely nice. Tim Tebow has a great image and is loved and hated by many so I wanted to see where I stood after personally meeting the guy.

I arrived at the cover shoot site around 8:30AM and tons of media were all around. This was Tebow's first big media day. Tebow was throwing the ball and already being shot by the game cover photographer. After a break in shooting I introduced myself to Tebow's crew first. Not a "crew" like what you may be thinking. It was his brother (who is also his agent) and his longtime friend Angel. Along with a camera crew who had been following around Tim since the end of the Sugar bowl which will be produced as a documentary later this year.. They were all cool down to earth guys. Everyone of them were really excited that Tim was a part of the game and all of them are big gamers. You can always tell a lot about a person after meeting their friends. I knew Tebow would probably be just like his friends, and he was. I then introduced myself to Tim and told him that "I would be annoying him all day" because of the video I was producing. He laughed and said "Cool man, make me look good." And he went back to throwing the ball a million more times over the head of a photographer for the perfect cover shot.

The shoot went great and everyone really enjoyed working with Tebow including myself. I always have more respect for the guys who not only star on the cover of the games, but they actually love playing the game as well. After the shoot he took a tour of the EA SPORTS Tiburon studios. He really looked like he was in awe of the whole day. He kept saying "How cool this was for all of this." He cut the famous "its in the game" line and was giddy about it. He took some pictures, checked out the game on the sticks and then he after taking a ton of pictures with the NCAA FB game time he said his goodbyes. I told him I would "make him look good" in the video. It wasn't to hard. Not like he started cursing at a media person and knocked over a craft services table. Then it might have been more difficult. I think I made him look good. Here is a link to the video. What do you think?

Part Two

I never know if the athletes or people I produce videos about get to see the actual videos.I know that most don't. So to my surprise, about a month later in New York city at a NFL draft party I ran into Tim and his crew again. He immediately told me "He loved the video and thanks for making him look good." As much as every FSU fan would like me to say "He was a dick." sorry.. the dude is really just a nice guy, His entire crew was also very cool about the video and it was nice to get acknowledged.

For those wondering, he did not mention a word about religion nor did he preach from a soapbox. I respect that.

Who knows which way the Tim Tebow story will go? My bet is the guy will continue to do well because he seemed ultra focus to do well. I will cheer him on and hopefully the guy proves the critics wrong.

Art- Jokes and Hopes!

At The Gates
L.A Cali 5/16/09
2:30PM

The picture above is part of a photo collection I am currently working on. I am very excited about presenting the rest of the 23_10 Art collection soon. It is such a mix of different styles and subjects that I am really proud of. You will be hearing soon about my Photography Showing coming up later this year. If you are reading this blog, I hope to see you there!

I hadn't performed stand up comedy in a while. I was feening to go up. I checked out the Raw Dawg Comedy night at Gustasos which is a GREAT night hosted by my boy Vince Taylor and the crowd was great! I did 5 minutes, free style off the top of the head and it went really well. I really feel my style of comedy has been affected by free style rappers like Em and Jay and Lil Wayne. If they can do crazy detailed lyrics off the top of the head. I figure I can tell a couple of jokes. I have never been a set them up knock them down type of joke teller. I think I may have messed up on trying to do that when I first started stand up comedy. I am going to put on a show within a couple of months for sure. I think the plaza would be cool... I will have to put that on the goals list.

This was one of my most chill July 4Th weekends I have ever had. And I loved it. So many great things I am working and planning for. Some I can't even talk about, maybe soon. Until then, back to work. It won't be too long now that I really think my schedule is going to be even crazier, and I am ready for that! In so many ways!

"Hey He popped his cherry!" Paulie

Damn it's late.

At 3:20AM on June 26Th I finally started a blog I have wanted to create for the past 3 years. I appreciate all of the people who have asked me to do something like this. Your words have been very kind.

I have a lot to say about a lot of different things. This Blog will not just be one type of blog. This Blog will cover every issue on the planet including personal things about my life and my past. At heart I am a story teller and I have plenty to share.

I will probably annoy you from time to time. Some would call me a "bleeding heart liberal" I call myself..logical. ;)

I use the ;) a lot. Almost compulsive. Weird thing, I never wink in real life.In fact I kind of look weird doing it.

I like to write in BIG FONT because I think people like to read big font but they just don't admit it. So you will never see a 6 size font on this sucker!

I am not a celebrity blogger, but I do take a lot of pictures and you can expect a TON of those. see... BIG FONT again.

I will be back..

time for bed...maybe....
